Today we had our first real snowfall of the season. The snow is bittersweet for me. I’m not a huge fan of the shorter days and colder weather, but at the same time, there’s nothing better than curling up on the couch with some cozy blankets and a warm latte on a snowy Sunday like today. So that’s exactly what we did.
We didn’t have just any old lattes though. We had Java Chai Eggnog Lattes. They had both coffee and chai tea, and luckily, I had some Eggnog in the fridge that I bought on a whim. So instead using steamed milk, I substituted Eggnog. The result was delicious. I took the lazy route and used Chai Latte concentrate, but you could make your own if that’s what you prefer.
You don’t need a fancy espresso machine to create Starbucks-worthy drinks at home. I used an immersion blender to create the frothy foam on top, but any blender would work. Alternatively, you could use a mason jar. Just give the ingredients a good shake and allow it to get nice and frothy before heating.

Java Chai Eggnog Latte
The perfect Holiday Drink with instant espresso, spicy chai tea concentrate, and sweet eggnog.
- 1 cup brewed instant espresso
- 1 cup chai concentrate
- 1 cup eggnog
- Pinch of nutmeg
- In a saucepan heat coffee, chai concentrate, and eggnog. Once it starts to steam turn off the heat.
- Blend with an immersion blender until the mixture is frothy.
- Pour into mugs and sprinkle with a pinch of nutmeg.
